Story as experienced from a Black Cell Operative POV (point of view)....time may vary due to….too many shots received in the line of duty...contributors may use this article as part of their work…just don’t forget to give credit to.. THE BLACK CELL.
Being a Black Cell Operative..consider yourself already dead...it was quite a demanding task....half the time we were encountering enemies at close range...and coming in & out of the battle field ala X-Ball style…thankfully, most of the Black Cell Operatives have experience playing in the jungles and do play X-Ball...some walked up all the way to the Msian Army zone...behind enemy lines...got shot upon entering the battle ground...and had to walk all the way back to the hospital...
1000hrs
Black Cell grouped together for one final briefing. Each Black Cell Operative was told of their respective positions and issued a Classified Grid Layout Map by Black Cell Leader Redza.
B6 - Operative Stanley & Sanket were to hide at the valley till the enemy was near and launch a kamikaze move. However, due to insufficient foliage, they assisted B4's position.
B5 - Operative Nick & Allan to launch surprise ambush but moved to K3 instead coz after a recce we realised there was no room for cover.
B4- Operative Kwan held his position all the way and maintained suppressive fire after Operative Nick & Allan were KIA. LAter on Operative Kwan reported that he sighted at least 20 soldiers heading towards his direction...he was no match for that ratio and was KIA too...Msian Army took control of that grid and launch the first wave of attack on the 1st Hill...
B3 - Operative Mamat & Hafizil held their ground for almost an hour.
B2 - Black Cell Leader Redza maintained the chain-of-command & communications.
B1 - Operative Hamman & AXN provided suppressive fire till their last stand (Operative AXN was lying on his back after defending for almost an hour together with B2 & B3)
The Black Cell Ops Grid Map...
(de-classified documents after the War)
Basically, our first objective was to provide suppressive fire till the 10mins is up for the Commies to provide reinforcements (which never arrived on time.. Huh? Roll Eyes Lips Sealed Angry Commies Generals, Lieutenants, Captains, please share your views on this.... Wink Grin
Second objective was to assist the Commies to distract the enemy by ambushing from the Deadman's Walk & to assist the frontlines to gain ground...
1030hrs
We could still see the first batch of Commies lepaking outside the battleground entrance…in 30mins time the Msian Army would be entering pass them! What’s happening…we had to remind them to start moving in. Respective Generals, Lieutenants, Captains...comments pls??
1031hrs
Black Cell Operatives, armed with zoned maps, walkie-talkies, and smoke bombs, and markers + ammo of course... marched towards our designated locations under the buddy system. My buddy was Nick aka Magic Monkey in the paintball world. Upon seeing us entering the battleground, then only did the rest of the Commies decided to follow suit..
1040hrs
After reaching our checkpoints, Nick with his fully camo top & bottom, hid amongst the thick bushes at the Msian Army hill just at the border on the left. I was hidden in the thick bamboo trees below the foothill...we realised that we would be the first Operatives to encounter the Msian Army soldiers and radioed back to Black Cell Leader Redza that we would have to be the first to throw the smoke bombs instead of Black Cell Leader. All Operatives were constantly reporting in their positions to Black Cell Leader Redza. Operative Stanley confused the rest at first with his Bravo 6 & Bravo 8 callsign for himself & Operative Sanket. Operative Mamat was known as 2-8 (dua-lapan). In actual fact, we were known as B1, B2, B3, B4 and B5 respectively based on buddy system.
1045hrs
We noticed a bunch of Commies approx. 3-4 guys walking in the Msian Army zone. They were lost. We signalled them to move to the Commies zone ASAP as the game was about to begin.
1050hrs
Screams of "REAL MEDIC" was heard from the Johor State Div....Black Cell Operatives were all taken aback...game has not begun...perhaps some of the commies couldn't take the gruelling climb up the hill...?? Later we found out they were attacked by a swarm of jungle wasps....it attacked a few of the Hammer guys as well as members of the Johor State Div…approx. 8 commies were hit by the jungle wasps...one was reportedly stung more than 10 times (he is now recovering in ICU and all of us wish him a speedy recovery).
1055hrs
Black Cell Leader radioed in that the Msian Army could be seen entering their zone. Black Cell Leader alerts us to be on standby. Enemies are sighted on their end.
1130hrs
A loud explosion signalled the start of a tough & tedious battle ahead..
1135hrs
Operative Allan released 2 home-made smoke bomb...unfortunately, it lasted only for 20 seconds...a cloud of thick white smoke….Operative Nick distracts a squad of about 10-15 soldiers who were "flushing" out any Black Cell members around their zone in the left side of the battle field (K3). As he exchanged heavy fire, I moved into position right below the bamboo growth and waited for a clear sight. Voices of Msian Army soldiers could be heard, faces unseen. After approx. 2 mins of them exchanging fire with Nick, I finally spotted a soldier whose head stucked out like a sore thumb. Reflex came into play as I let rip a few shots....head shot! He was stunned...less than 5 seconds later, just as I was enjoying mere seconds of Kodak moment, his comrades let rip a barrage of pellets non-stop...there was no way I could shoot back as it was 1 marker vs 10-15 markers...I quickly duck for cover but one of the shots took me on my left arm...I was out...I should have let rip as well into the unseen instead of shooting one soldier in sight…perhaps that might have created more casualties….
1140hrs
Nick managed to hold his ground but was taken out as well with a head shot…
1145hrs
According to other Black Cell Operatives, Msian Army started to attack in organised movements in groups of 4-5 per charge...
1150hrs
Msian Army’s coordinated attack led them to the foothill of K8 to K10. They had penetrated the valley! Black Cell Operatives managed to hold the attackers for nearly an hour…but there were no reinforcements by the Commies….Commies were supposed to charge up the hill after the 10mins. window period, but there was no coordinated backup in sight. After holding ground for nearly an hour, the remaining Black Cell Operatives controlling the top of the 1st hill were eliminated. Operative Hamman was barrel-tagged by one of the Msian Army soldiers while defending the 1st Hill. Apparently he was surprised himself that they hiked up the hill that fast. Black Cell Leader could’ve taken out the soldier that barrel tagged Operative Hamman, but at that point in time he was busy commanding the rest of the Operatives on the walkie. Operative AXN was flat on his back at the hospital after defending the 1st Hill for nearly an hour with the rest of the Operatives!
1215hrs
Operative Allan, Nick and Hafizil decided to do a surprise attack behind enemy lines…the plan was to walk on the dead-man’s path…and jump into the Msian Army territory (H11)….Operative Allan was the first to jump in and was KIA…there were 2 Msian Army sniper scouts protecting the Msian Army border from Black Cell Operatives…Operative Nick & Hafizil decided to walk on instead of jumping into the trap.…their status was not known after that...
1230hrs
Black Cell Operatives re-grouped at the hospital to re-strategize. By this time, the Msian Army were already on top of the 1st Hill. This made it even harder for the Commies to regain ground…the Msian Army had already conquered the 2nd valley just before lunch time. Fierce battle ensued and the Black Cell Operatives were radioed in to provide a line of defence at Perak State Div….Before we entered the battleground from the deadman’s walk, Msian Army soldiers TC, Abby & another soldier were spotted penetrating at the top of the 2nd hill..! Black Cell Operatives were forced to enter and flushed them out before they created an opening for the Msian Army…during the ensuing battle, Operative Allan accidentally opened fire at Operative Kwan….it was friendly-fire…This was because his goggles were all fogged up (apparently his fan ran out of batteries) and noticed Black Cell Leader shouting out loud that the enemy was within range. He had no idea that Operative Kwan was at that spot as he heard shots coming from that direction….sorry Operative Kwan!
1259hrs
Just before the declaration of cease-fire (lunch time), the Msian Army were already at the mid-point of the 2nd hill…Those guarding at the top of Perak State Div. and just beside the deadman’s path, could hear the Msian Army’s voices approx. 30ft away! The Msian Army was close to conquering the 2nd hill…
1315hrs
Black Cell Operatives re-grouped and strategised their next move at the hospital. Black Cell Leader Redza was the only Commies who stood guard at the top of the 2nd hill to maintain ground. Most of the Commies were either back in hospital for lunch or at their respective State Div.
Operative Allan realized that there was room for improvement in the Commies’ coordination, and discussed with Captain Bonzer from Selangor State Div…according to him, Penang State Div. had fallen and that only 3 surviving members had retreated to Selangor State Div.
Operative Allan decided to meet Captain John and Captain Frank to get a second opinion. They mentioned that Penang State Div. is still under control…this was contradicting to Captain Bonzer’s report…?!?! (Hmm…. ) Captain Frank mentioned that the Msian Army might make a push after lunch on the left flank and right in the center (M12-M15). Black Cell Operatives were requested to guard the left flank from being attacked. Reinforcements were strengthened on the left flank as well to prevent an all-out assault from the Msian Army.
1400hrs
Ceasefire is lifted….Operative Allan does a fire-in-the-hole…the home-made smoke bomb went off but it nearly started a forest fire…not only did it ignited the dried leaves & branches, it landed directly in front of Black Cell Operatives…! Black Cell Leader Redza was pissed…..(words which will not be mentioned in here) The smoke bomb literally lit up a small bon-fire enough to roast a duck…Operative Allan shouted for “water”! in the middle of the battle…Operative Hamman nearly went to extinguish the flames, but luckily thanks to the previous downpour, the fire died down within 2 mins…(phew)…according to Operative Allan...as he was throwing the smoke bomb, it burned his hand (he suffered 1st degree burns) and that effected the throwing distance..see 1st degree burns here:

Black Cell Leader Redza throws a real smoke bomb into the foothill…he commanded the rest of the Commies to charge to gain back ground…in the midst of the battle he was taken out…Operative Allan took over his position and instructed the Commies to spread out..in the ensuing battle he was hit as well….Operative Hamman advanced on the left flank under the thick bushes…by this time, the Msian Army had retreated back to their 1st Hill.
1440hrs
Black Cell regrouped at the marshal’s resting area. Operative Allan, Nick, Iqbal, Mamat and Stanley were seated relaxingly…and as we "relaxed"....we noticed a high ranked Msian Army General next to us!! Unprotected without his loyalist bodyguards…!! General Alizan was at the resting area as well..! Oblivious to his surroundings, we were within range but due to the rules of engagement, Black Cell Operatives or any Commies for that matter were not allowed to headshot until he steps back into the battle ground. Operative Nick & Iqbal decided to follow General Alizan from behind…unfortunately, he soon realized the ambush plot and requested for backup…apparently 3 snipers were trained towards the dead man’s path guarding the General’s resting area upon discovering the plot…General Alizan escaped a headshot that day...
1500hrs
Black Cell Leader Redza decided that it was time to gain battle ground and grouped up all Black Cell Operatives for a kamikaze run into the 1st Valley…by this time, the Commies were now defending their part of the hill….just before Black Cell Leader Redza made the charge, Operative Allan noticed that there were two snipers trained at the entry point of the valley…Operative Allan radioed in to Operative Nick who was behind those 2 snipers…after a countdown of 1 mins, 50 sec, 30 sec, Operative Nick & Mamat jumped right behind the 2 snipers and ambushed them. By that time, the rest of the Black Cell Operatives swung into action with Black Cell Leader Rezda holding the purple smoke bomb & leading the kamikaze charge….somehow both sides were stunned by that action and just looked at the trail of smoke passing by…..after approx. 5 seconds, we could hear the Msian Army shouting “Black Cells!” “Black Cells!”…
All hell broke loose as Black Cell Leader Redza instructed the Commies to advance down the hill to gain more ground… Black Cell Leader Redza was KIA by friendly-fire…the rest of the Black Cell Operatives were KIA as well…
1530
Black Cell Operatives re-grouped at the hospital and were informed that reinforcements were needed at Johor State Division as it was under threat…4 operatives were sent there to provide back-up.
1600
By this time, both sides were conservative in shooting as air was running out…it was virtually quiet as compared to first half of the day…
1630
Black Cell Operatives, some armed with just a grenade, one armed with a pod, another with 500psi of air, decided to give it one final push…all 10 rushed into the 1st Valley to create chaos and distraction…Black Cell Leader Redza, Operative Mamat and Operative Stanley made it into the right flank where Medic Bo was located. Operative Allan was digged in at the bottom of the hill, whilst Operative Nick was crawling around in his well-hidden camo outfit giving out positions of the enemy to the rest of the Commies and guiding some newbies…
1645
Msian Army held their territory and was on high alert for any last minute charge by the Commies. Captain Dean anchored the Msian Army defenses and battled out with a Commies on the foothill who had a Medic right beside…the Commies tried to flank on the Msian Army’s left flank, but the Msian Army soldiers were well-guarded by the huge bamboo foliage and held firmly…
1700
The War was declared over…..
Note: All in all, it was a good battle and the turning point for the Msian Army was just before lunch time. Had they overrun the 2nd Hill, Johor State Div, Perak State Div. would have fallen at their hands…..
According to reliable sources (border patrol scouts), there was a group of Msian Army soldiers ….approx. 7 of them who hiked up the Commies right flank (Q2) and were on the verge of taking over the Johor State Div….fortunately, the Black Cell Operatives arrived in time to provide quick back-up or it would have fallen…
Thanks to Cloner for the 10 smoke bombs for the Black Cell. Don't burn your kitchen down next time!! Grin
In terms of organisation for this C&C, I personally believe the Msian Army were more well-coordinated. The Commies could have performed better if the meetings between the leaders and flow of information was more thorough...yes each group had their own meetings...but there was no centralised meeting to establish a proper chain-of-command.... Wink
All said & done, I believe the Black Cell achieved their objectives in this C&C and played according to their roles just like the rest of the special roles...
Over & out,
Bravo 5
